Ashleigh Lauren
With an interest in all aspects of photography, Ashleigh’s passion lies in photographing people – creating powerful and captivating portraits that give the viewer a glimpse into her subject’s personality and soul.
Since focussing on portraiture in late 2011, Ashleigh feels incredibly honoured to have been awarded First Place in the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize 2012, First Place in the Click 11 Photography Prize, been selected as a finalist and received a Merit Award in the Picture This Photography Prize and received numerous Merit Awards in other competitions both nationally and internationally. In 2009, Ashleigh held her first solo exhibition, ‘The Island’ at ONBA, Hobart and has since held a number of solo exhibitions as well as being involved in numerous group exhibitions.
Her winning photograph, ‘Marti – Surfer’ is currently on display at Moran House, Sydney and will tour Australia until mid 2013. Ashleigh’s dream is to use her photography to help people in some way – whether this be through sharing a story or raising awareness of a particular issue.
